City to Offer Two Additional Emergency Repair Grants Workshops for City of Tulsa Residents Affected by June 18 Storm
(TULSA, Okla.) The City of Tulsa will offer two additional workshops for those who live within Tulsa city limits and need help applying for grants of up to $7,500 meant to help with emergency repairs related to the June 18 storm.
To assist homeowners in applying for grants, the City of Tulsa’s Department of City Experience (DCE) will offer the following workshops:
Tuesday, August 29, 2023
Zarrow Regional Library
2224 W. 51st St., Tulsa, OK
3 – 5 p.m.
Thursday, September 28, 2023
Rudisill Regional Library
1520 N. Hartford Ave., Tulsa, OK
5 – 7 p.m.
Emergency Repair Grants do not require repayment and are meant to repair conditions that threaten the health and safety of occupants. Interpretation services will be made available during the workshop.
Please note, this workshop is for Tulsa residents only who are encouraged to visit www.cityoftulsa.org/winhousing before the event to review eligibility requirements. Those attending the workshop should bring the following required documents:
Proof of Income for anyone over age 18 living in the household. Examples include:
Two Recent Paycheck Stubs
Disability
Child Support
Social Security Awards Letter
Pension
Unemployment Benefits
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Copy of Deed to Home
Deed must be in the applicant’s name. For homes with multiple people on the deed, anyone who doesn’t live at the house will be required to fill out an affidavit confirming they don’t contribute any income to the property in question.
Assistance includes grants for: Electrical, Plumbing, Roofs, Heating, Air Conditioning, Sewer Line Repair.
Please note, Emergency Repair Grants do not cover repairs for fences damaged by the storm.
To qualify, eligible homeowners who meet income guidelines must complete an application and return it to the City of Tulsa for review and verification.
Applications can be found online at www.cityoftulsa.org/winhousing. Residents can also call (918) 576-5552 to request an application or to ask questions.
Applications can be returned by mail, email, or Fax to the City of Tulsa.
