Couple tries to take the law into their own hands, gets arrested
OklahomaCrime
(TULSA, Okla.) On Sunday around 2 p.m., officers were dispatched to a disturbance at 2010 N Memorial Ave. Further investigation by officers, revealed that two juveniles in a car were “honking” at a house in a nearby neighborhood.
Maria Peterson and boyfriend Evaristo Nunez claimed that they thought that the juveniles were the suspects whom had stolen Peterson’s car about a month prior and were “threatening’ them with the horn honking. Peterson and Nunez gave chase to the “suspects” in two different vehicles and called police.
When police did not show up quick enough, Peterson and Nunez decided to detain them by ramming their cars into the “suspects” vehicle and forcing them into the parking lot at 2010 N Memorial Dr.
When police arrived, Peterson was at the scene and Nunez returned shortly after. All vehicles had body damage and paint transfer consistent with them striking each other. There were no injuries.
It was later determined that the juveniles were not honking at Peterson’s house and appeared to not be involved in previously stealing Peterson’s car.
Peterson and Nunez were booked for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
