(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) Starting October 1, 2020, every air traveler 18-years of age and older will either need a REAL ID, a passport or another approved form of identification to fly within the United States. Even if you’ve had a license or ID in Oklahoma in the past, when you go to get your REAL ID, you’ll NEED to bring in documentation of your identity, date of birth and lawful status. You can use the Oklahoma REAL ID Requirements Guide to build a personal checklist of the documents you will need to satisfy REAL ID identification requirements. Just follow the steps indicated on the top of each page found here: http://realid.dps.ok.gov/guide.html The checklist is for your personal use - you will not be asked to present this at the Department of Public Safety (DPS) or a tag agent office. Disclaimer: Using the Requirements Guide does not guarantee you will be able to obtain a REAL ID. Contact the Department of Public Safety (DPS) if you have questions about or need assistance with the documents required to obtain a REAL ID. DPS reserves the right to reject unverifiable documents, request additional documents and investigate documents presented. Oklahoma REAL ID-compliant driver licenses and IDs will be available at select locations starting April 30, 2020 for customers who want to obtain one.
