Thunderstorms and warmer temps in the week ahead

(TULSA, Okla.) Chances of showers and a few thunderstorms are in the forecast for Monday into Monday night across portions of the area as the flow aloft becomes more southwesterly. This southwesterly flow aloft will bring a temporary surge of deeper moisture to the region Monday into Monday night before it is pushed off to the east. Dry and unseasonably warm conditions are expected Tuesday into Wednesday before the next cold front crashes through the area Wednesday night. While this cold front is expected to move through the area dry, the chances of showers and perhaps a few rumbles of thunder will be on the increase Thursday and continue through Friday night as a mid-level low moves out of the southwest U.S. and into the Plains. In the wake of the cold front, temperatures will return to near normal for this time of year from Thursday into Saturday. Monday Cloudy, with a high near 75. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Monday Night A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. South wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Tuesday Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Tuesday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 60. South wind around 5 mph. Wednesday Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. South wind around 5 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Wednesday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. North wind 5 to 10 mph. Thursday A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. North wind around 10 mph. Thursday Night A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. North wind around 5 mph. Friday A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 64. North wind around 5 mph. Friday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 44. South wind around 5 mph. Saturday Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. South wind 5 to 10 mph.
