(TULSA, Okla.) The overnight hours will see a break between waves of storms. Storms are expected to increase along a remnant system late Sunday night into early Monday morning across all forecast sites. Activity should be isolated to widely scattered. Storms will continue to bubble up through the morning and afternoon hours Monday. A band of showers and thunderstorms is expected to move across all forecast sites during the afternoon and early evening hours. Heavy rainfall will greatly restrict visibility to 2 miles if not less at times. This band will most likely bring the most impactful weather throughout the forecast period. The highest confidence for storms appears to start Monday afternoon and continue into the early evening hours. Highest concern, however, continues to be across southeast Oklahoma given the recent rains, the expected position of the upper low, and the likelihood of multiple rounds of heavy rain affecting this area. The wet and stormy weather will persist through the upcoming week and into at least part of next weekend, but overall, the thunderstorms are expected to be more diurnally driven as we move into mid to late week, with the highest coverage tied to the proximity of the upper low, favoring southeast Oklahoma and west central Arkansas. There are signs that the prolonged wet period may come to an end late next weekend and into next week as upper level ridging builds back into the region. Memorial Day Showers and thunderstorms.
