(TULSA, Okla.) Tropical Storm Cristobal will be making landfall soon on the Louisiana coast with the eventual remnant low tracking north through central Arkansas. If anything, model data has trended slightly farther east with the low track. The remnant low will accelerate northward Monday and Monday night with heavy rain potential for our area generally confined to areas east of I-49, with amounts dropping off quickly as you go west. Most of the significant rain will shift northeast by Tuesday afternoon, while a potent mid-level shortwave approaches from the west and drives a pacific cold front into eastern Oklahoma during the afternoon. Temperatures may warm quickly ahead of the front with much of eastern Oklahoma rising into the mid or even upper 90s before the front moves through with a noticeable drop in temperature and strong gusty west winds. Wind speeds support gusts approaching advisory levels across northeast Oklahoma Tuesday afternoon and this trend will need to be monitored. Subsidence on west side of tropical system will likely inhibit convective potential along the front. Much drier air in wake of the front will bring relief from the humidity with much cooler overnight lows during the middle part of the week. Temperatures will begin to climb again by next weekend. Monday Mostly sunny, with a high near 93. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Monday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. East wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable in the evening.
