Oklahoma hits new record high for daily increase of positive COVID-19 cases

(TULSA, Okla.) Positive COVID-19 cases in Oklahoma rose by 858 in the last 24 hours, according to state officials on Tuesday. The cumulative number of positive cases now stands at 17,220. The increase in positive cases greatly surpasses the previous record for daily increase, which was 585 on June 30. As far as recovered patients go, 573 have recovered in the last 24 hours. The cumulative number of recovered cases now stands at 13,005. There were also five additional deaths reported in Carter, Delaware, Garvin, McCurtain and Muskogee Counties. Officials said none of the five deaths occurred in the last 24 hours. 404 Oklahomans have died from Coronavirus to date. 426 people remain hospitalized. The following status of Oklahoma hospitals was reported on Monday: ICU Beds Available: 211 of 904 (23%) Medical Surgery Beds Available: 1,541 of 5,717 (27%) Operating Room Beds Available: 399 of 593 (67%) Pediatric Beds Available: 231 of 418 (55%) PICU Beds Available: 25 of 84 (30%) Ventilators Available: 678 of 1,054 (64%) Negative Flow rooms Available: 402 of 835 (48%) Overall hospital occupancy status: 4,784 (Hospital census as of previous midnight) COVID-19 Cases Currently Hospitalized: 289 (161 in ICU) Persons Under Investigation in Hospital: 137 (21 in ICU) Persons seen in Hospital (during the 24-hour reporting period) Self-quarantined: 1,203 Average Days of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): 14.7 Days of PPE range from 0 to 65. The median stock on hand in days for Oklahoma County and Tulsa County acute hospitals are 7 and 11 respectively
