(BINGHAMTON, NY) In light of the global pandemic we are presently facing, most of us have been quarantined for months. As all of us grow antsy and eager to get back to our regular day to day lives, no one has been more affected by this newfound isolation than children. With schools, summer camps, playgrounds, and amusement parks all closed, this summer will be one for the books. Young community activist Talon Thomas wants to see the children have at least one day of fun in the sun. Thomas is hosting “A Day out of Quarantine” at Assata Shakur Park on July 25th in Binghamton. “A day out of Quarantine is simply about giving the kids the fun they would normally have throughout the summer had not been for covid-19… so we are giving them one full, eight hour day to make up for some of the fun they have missed,” Thomas said. The event is set to have children full on running the event. There will be kid performances, kids behind the vendor tables, and even kid security. All children 18 years and under are welcome to participate in “A Day out of Quarantine”. There has been a Go Fund Me page set up to help Thomas fund things like tables, food and a DJ. The fun begins Saturday, July 25th at 12 noon. If you would like to donate to the cause, please click below. https://www.gofundme.com/f/21lrht0rmo
