(JOHNSTON COUNTY, Okla.) Bobby Jerry Orrell, 81, was sentenced Thursday in a child pornography case in Johnston County, Oklahoma. On June 18, 2020, Orrell pleaded guilty to one felony count of Procuring, Producing, Distributing, or Possessing Juvenile Pornography. On August 6, 2020, Orrell was sentenced to 10 years in DOC, with all but the first 5 suspended (5 years in prison, 5 years suspended), $350.00 restitution, a $10,000 fine, and court costs. He must serve at least 85% of his time, and will have to register as a Sex Offender. On June 6, 2018, Orrell and a juvenile acquaintance, both from Muenster, TX, went on a fishing trip to a remote and secluded spot on Mill Creek, northwest of Ravia, OK. During the trip, Orrell stripped naked, convinced the juvenile to do the same, and then used a cell phone to take video and photographs of the juvenile. On August 7, 2018, the juvenile’s family reported the incident to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Department, who in turn requested OSBI assistance. OSBI agents obtained an arrest warrant for Orrell through the Johnston County District Court for Manufacturing Child Pornography, and worked with the Cooke County, Texas District Attorney’s Office and Sheriff’s Office to assist them in obtaining a search warrant for Orrell’s house. On August 8, 2018, both warrants were served on Orrell at his residence in Muenster, TX and he was arrested by the Cooke County Sheriff’s Office and interviewed by OSBI. Orrell was extradited to Johnston County, OK, where he was charged with one count of Procuring, Producing, Distributing, or Possessing Juvenile Pornography.
