(TULSA, Okla.) We remain in the midst of an active pattern for several more days. A largely overturned airmass was situated over us Sunday afternoon but the moisture has certainly not gone away. Highest chances of rain Sunday evening should remain concentrated along and south of I-40. Locally heavy amounts are possible and localized flooding will remain a concern in light of recent rains across parts of east central and southeastern Oklahoma and west central Arkansas. The uncertainty of storm coverage precludes a flood watch at this time. Some storms may be ongoing Monday morning, likely followed by a substantial increase in instability through the afternoon. A frontal boundary will approach from the north by late afternoon with other residual boundaries in place, with additional storm development likely by the afternoon and evening. Forecast instability supports a severe weather threat expanding over a large part of the area, along with a continues heavy rainfall threat. The above mentioned front will linger in the area into mid-week as a stronger wave moves south across the Rockies and eventually cuts off to the west. The boundary should remain quite active until such time as the cutoff low finally moves east, or a stronger frontal surge finally brings some drier air south late this week. The potential for several inches of rainfall still exists during the upcoming week with the flooding threat possibly expanding over more of the area.
