Community to celebrate new school stadium

(TULSA, Okla.) Students, teachers, parents, and the community are invited to celebrate a dedication ceremony at the new Will Rogers College Middle and High School stadium (3909 E. 5th Pl.) on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 6:30 p.m. The celebration will mark the completion of the construction for a new football/soccer and track stadium at the school.
The event will feature remarks by district officials, school leaders, and community members. The event program is as follows:
6:30 p.m. Greeting by Executive Director of Athletics Gil Cloud
6:31 p.m. Welcome by Will Rogers College Middle and High School Principal Nikki Dennis
6:33 p.m. Welcome and introduction of guests by Superintendent Deborah Gist
6:38 p.m. Remarks by Board Vice President Jania Wester
6:42 p.m. Remarks by Will Rogers High School Community Foundation Board Chairman Rick Miller
6:45 p.m. Remarks by Ropers Athletics Director Krystel Markwardt
6:50 p.m. National Anthem
6:53 p.m. Ceremonial ribbon cutting
6:57 p.m. Coin Toss by Senator David Rader
7 p.m. Football game begins, closing of the ceremony
Additional guests include: Representative John Waldron and Board Member Jennettie Marshall.
The project is part of a $415 million bond project passed by Tulsa voters in 2015. The project features a new football/soccer and track stadium.
