City of Tulsa To Host Second Round of Resilient Tulsa Equity Dialogues

(TULSA, Okla.) As part of the Resilient Tulsa Strategy, the Mayor’s Office of Resilience and Equity (MORE) will host its second round of Equity Dialogues starting Oct. 20, 2020, to further encourage meaningful conversations to bring better understanding and unity among Tulsans from different backgrounds. A follow-up to the Equity Dialogues hosted in August, these Equity Dialogues represent the City’s third round of conversations on equity, which are now taking place virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each dialogue will take place between October 20 and October 30. Dialogues will be held virtually via videoconference and will have roughly eight-to-10 participants, each with a trained facilitator. Each Equity Dialogue is thoughtfully organized to bring a diverse group of Tulsans together to share, listen, and learn in community under the guidance of trained facilitators. Dialogues last approximately 90 minutes and participants will be provided resources to support their engagement before and after the dialogue takes place. The City of Tulsa partnered with OSU Center for Public Life to provide the facilitator training for these dialogues. To date, 32 facilitators have completed training and by the end of October, will have collectively offered more than 20 dialogues.
