Five injured in Osage County DUI wreck

A personal injury collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on US60 just east of County Road 2809, approximately 5 miles north and 2 miles east of Pawhuska, OK in Osage County. Nicklaus Blaine Perryman, 45, of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, was driving westbound when he departed the roadway to the right and overcorrected. Perryman reentered the roadway into a broadside going into a roll, rolling the vehicle an unknown amount of times, departing the roadway to the left, and coming to a rest on its passenger side. He was taken to a local hospital, treated and released. Five passengers were onboard. Dayton Jeremiah Curry, 20, Wynona, Oklahoma, was partially ejected from the vehicle and pinned for 30 minutes before being freed by the Jaws of Life. He was flown to St. Francis in Tulsa with head, trunk, external and internal injuries. Three other passengers, Brian Thomas Caughey, 32, of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Heather Marie Giovinazzo, 35, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Jessica Shantel Valdez, 28, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, were all taken to a local hospital, treated and released. The fifth passenger refused treatment at the scene. The cause of the wreck was driving under the influence.
