Azalea Festival - Muskogee - April 1-30 View beautiful spring blooms all month long at the 132-acre Honor Heights Park. Visitors will find over 30,000 azaleas in 625 varieties, as well as tulips, dogwoods and wisteria. The festival also features carriage rides, arts and crafts, food and more. Dogwood Days Festival - Idabel - April 2-3 This two-day festival kicks off with a pageant, music and food trucks, then continues with a myriad of craft vendors, children's games and live entertainment under the dogwood blooms. Other activities include a 5K, chicken cook-off and cornhole tournament.
Woolaroc Spring Traders Encampment - Bartlesville - April 9-10 Step back in time to when the West was young and experience the rugged pioneer life firsthand at this weekend event. Visitors will learn about the men and women who trapped and traded during the 1840s in Indian Territory. Redbud Balloon Festival & Oklahoma Taco Fiesta - Yale - April 9-11 Take your love of tacos to new heights at this hot air balloon festival located on a scenic, 120-acre farm in Yale. This unique event combines hot air balloons, balloon rides and a balloon glow show with taco competitions, live entertainment, a car show and on-site camping. Cimarron Territorial Celebration & Cow Chip Throwing Contest - Beaver - April 10-17 Visit the panhandle town of Beaver to celebrate Oklahoma’s pioneer roots at this fun and quirky annual event, which includes a carnival, craft show, festival foods, parade, antique tractor pulls, live entertainment and—you guessed it—plenty of cow chip tossing! Walkin’ on Chalk Arts Festival - Altus - April 18 Whether you enjoy creating art or just admiring it, this outdoor show has something for everyone. Browse unique designs created just for the festival, visit the art-filled vendor booths and enjoy delicious food. Stick around for the judging to see who takes home top honors. Footloose Festival - Elmore City - April 24 Did you know the town that inspired the 1984 movie “Footloose” is located in Oklahoma? Visit Elmore City to commemorate the famous 1980 prom that ended the town’s ban on dancing with a car show, lawnmower races, vendors, inflatables and a street dance. Kites Over Enid - Enid - April 24-25 Bring, create or buy your own colorful kite and send it sky high at this spring event. There will also be a candy drop, special kite performances and food trucks at this Enid event, which broke the North American record in 2009 by flying 2,598 kites simultaneously. Tumbleweed Calf Fry - Stillwater - April 29-May 1 Adventurous eaters and music lovers alike won’t want to miss this annual event, which features a calf fry meal and live Red Dirt country music entertainment. The 2021 lineup includes the Read Southall Band, Parker McCollum, Riley Green and more.
