(GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, Mich.) The Grand Traverse County Health Department will be expanding the sites where it offers vaccines by using satellite clinics. The first satellite vaccination clinic will be in Fife Lake on Friday April 16th from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. “Now that we have hit our stride with administering vaccine at Northwestern Michigan College’s Hagerty Center, we are able to reach out to residents in some of the corners of the county that are more rural," said Wendy Hirschenberger, the Health officer for the Grand Traverse County Health Department. "We need to ensure that we are offering the vaccine to those that may not have the capability or means to drive into Traverse City for an appointment. It is imperative that we continue to strive for equitable distribution of the vaccine." Anyone age 18 and older is eligible for a vaccine at the Fife Lake Satellite clinic. If you would like to schedule an appointment you can call the Fife Lake Township office at 231-879-3963. The health department will be announcing more satellite vaccination clinics in the coming weeks.
