It is noticeably colder across eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas Friday morning in the wake of a cold front that moved through the region on Thursday. Clouds lingered across portions of northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas, but are expected to exit the region later in the morning. Temperatures will be some 15 to 20 degrees cooler Friday afternoon when compared to Thursday. Even colder temperatures are expected on Saturday as high pressure builds in from the north. The chances of rain increase Sunday and continue through Monday morning as an upper level low sweeps out of northern Mexico and across the Southern Plains. There is the potential for a light wintry mix late Sunday Night/early Monday morning across portions of northeast Oklahoma before the precipitation comes to an end. Even colder temperatures are anticipated Tuesday and Wednesday as a stronger cold front moves through the region Monday into Monday Night. High temperatures during this time frame will be 10 to 15 degrees below normal. Temperatures will begin to rebound on Thursday as the low level winds become more southwesterly.
