(TULSA, Okla.) The much-advertised cold front is still on track to bring much cooler and in fact unseasonable and record cool weather to our area to start the work week. The front will enter northeast Oklahoma shortly after midnight and will likely clear the southeast part of the area by near or just after noon Monday.

Showers and scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop near and north of the front late Sunday night and early Monday, before increasing in coverage by late morning into the early afternoon hours. The rain and clouds will keep many places in the 60s for much of Monday afternoon, with some late day temperature recovery possible across parts of northeast Oklahoma once the rain ends.

Clearing skies will result in record lows for many locations Monday night. A warming trend will then begin Tuesday, but it will still be well below normal for late June.

The warming trend will continue as the week progresses, with above normal temperatures returning by Thursday and Friday. The next cold front will approach by the end of the week and will once again increase the chances for showers and thunderstorms. The airmass behind this front does not look nearly as cool as the one that will be over us the next couple days.
