(LANSING, Mich.) Michiganders who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will be eligible for the "MI Shot To Win Sweepstakes".

The sweepstakes is a partnership between Governor Whitmer, Meijer, and the Michigan Association of United Ways.

Michigan residents who are over the age of 18 and have received at least one COVID vaccine shot can register to be entered into three different drawings.

There will be one drawing for one million dollars, one drawing for two million dollars, and 30 daily drawings for $50,000.

Parents of Michiganders between the ages of 12 and 17 can enter into a scholarship drawing on behalf of their child.

Nine scholarship drawings worth $55,000 will be awarded.

The state of Ohio also launched a lottery style raffle "Vax a Million" to encourage residents to get the vaccine.

The state of Ohio says that vaccinations went up 94% for 16 to 17 year olds, 46% for 18 to 19 year olds, and 55% for 20 to 49 year olds after the "Vax a Million" campaign was announced.

“If there’s one thing every Michigander can agree on, it’s that whatever Ohio can do, Michigan can do it better and bigger,” said Governor Whitmer.  "This sweepstakes gives every Michigander who’s been vaccinated a shot to win cash or college scholarships. “It’s also a great way to encourage more Michiganders to get the safe and effective vaccine so you can protect yourself, your family, and help get life back to normal. If we all roll up our sleeves and do our part, we can all win big. Let’s get to work!”

Michiganders can enter the "MI Shot To Win Sweepstakes" until August 3rd.
