(TULSA, Okla.) On Monday at 2:45 a.m., officers and the TFD were called to the QT at 8081 S Memorial in reference to a subject attempting to burn the store.

The QT clerk stated that a male walked into the store and poured gasoline on the counter and told him that he was going to light it. The clerk immediately exited the store and called 911. When the fire department arrived, they noticed a fire burning on the checkout counter as well as the cigarette case behind the counter. They quickly put out the fire which caused minimal damage to the rest of the store.

The suspect fled the scene in a white 4dr car eastbound on 81st.  As officer Mackey was enroute to the store, he came upon a collision at 10300 E 81st involving a white 4dr and another car. The driver of the white car attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by Mackey. The driver matched the description of the arson suspect and was later identified by the store clerk.

TFD fire marshal arrived and processed the scene and took over the investigation. The suspect was confirmed to be a tribe member; therefore, the ATF will assume jurisdiction.
