(TULSA, Okla.) A slight chance of precipitation will continue late Sunday into Monday morning, mainly over parts of Southeast Oklahoma with the potential for some re-development. Otherwise, scattered cloud cover and lows in the mid-60s to lower 70s are forecast for the area.

The latest model solutions have the weak upper trough axis holding on over the region for Monday now, and also have backed off on the strength of a slow-moving shortwave forecast through the region Tuesday and Wednesday. In response, we will continue with the potential for isolated to scattered convection during the day Monday for parts of the area.

With regards to the midweek shortwave, for now we will hold onto a slight chance of precipitation chances Tuesday and Wednesday as some form of the shortwave now looks to move across Wednesday. The precipitation chances and their locations will continue to change and be updated as our confidence with this shortwave becomes more certain. Depending on the amount or if any precipitation mid-week, this could allow for temperatures to be a little warmer than currently forecast of upper 80s/low 90s.

The greater shower and thunderstorm chances of the forecast period now look to be late week and into the start of next weekend in response to a more defined wave that looks to move across the Plains.

The exact timing remains fluid. Warmer temperatures are forecast ahead of this system Thursday and Friday before the increasing precipitation. Temperatures for the weekend will depend on the frontal boundary push. As of this forecast and with the time of year, we will continue with upper 80s and low 90s into the weekend.
