(MUSCOGEE NATION) MCN District Court Judge Stacy Leeds has dismissed two petitions for Fraud and Irregularities, finding that USPS delays in delivering ballots before the 11 AM deadline on election day and reports of election board members voting with challenge ballots did not merit invalidating the election results.

October 4th and 5th, the MCN National Council held emergency meetings in order to vote on authorization for the Election Board to hire representation in the two petitions.

Candidates Adam Jones and Lanissa Jack-Melton both filed petitions with similar allegations in the court, and after a Wednesday hearing, the both parties agreed to have their petitions heard together in a hearing held Friday, October 8th.

At the conclusion of this daylong hearing, Judge Leeds issued her oral decision as stipulated by MCN Code.

A written version of the decision is required to be made available within one calendar day.

According to Title 19 of MCN Code, any appeal to the Judges decision must be filed with the MCN Supreme Court within three calendar days of the oral decision of the District Court.

Mvskoke Media will have ongoing coverage in this developing story.
