Warming trend into early next week

(TULSA, Okla.) High pressure reigned supreme across eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas Sunday afternoon in the wake of a cold front that moved through the region Saturday night into Sunday morning.

After lows near normal for this time of year, warmer temperatures are anticipated on Monday as southerly winds increase across the region and the surface high shifts to the east of the area.

Temperatures will be even warmer on Tuesday with high temperatures in the 70s across the vast majority of eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. Some locations across eastern Oklahoma could even top out in the 80s. 

A cold front is slated to move through the area Wednesday. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms continue to look possible across portions of eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas in association with this frontal passage. Below normal temperatures are forecast for Thursday and Friday in the wake of the cold front with near normal temperatures returning Saturday.

Sunny, with a high near 78. South wind 5 to 10 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
