(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) Six weeks to help people caring for loved ones with substance disorders.

That’s the objective of Oklahoma’s first “Renew You” Virtual Retreat, a partnership between Parents Helping Parents, Peaceful Family Oklahoma, Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, and the Stonegate Center

Tara Carr is the Director of Marketing and Programs for Parents Helping Parents. She said this retreat is a direct response to needs expressed to them by their communities.

STORY CODE: RENEWYOU

“Caregivers in our community work tirelessly to support their friends and family,” Carr said. “And it's our hope that Renew You will be exactly what they need to feel more refreshed and empowered along their family's journey to recovery.”

The free webinar series will feature well-known mental health and substance use professionals, educate attendees about local resources, and, organizers said, provide hope and healing through fresh concepts for recovery, mental health, and self-care.

Sessions will be held every Tuesday at 11 a.m. and include “Understanding Trauma Through A Trauma-Informed Lens with Katrina Zmaila”, “Marijuana 101 & A 21st Century Understanding of Teen Substance Use”, and “Breaking Addicting Prevention Myths with Jayme Kelton”.

The "Renew You Kickoff: A Virtual Retreat for Caregivers" begins at 11 a.m. CT on Tuesday, February 22.
