MCN Press Secretary Jason Salsman said the administration feels comfortable with the amount of research and mitigation that has been increasingly improving to make the decision to proceed with the Festival.

“We are still very much staying alert and doing all we can to stay cognizant of the fact that the pandemic is still going and there is a chances to get sick,” Salsman said.

The numbers, according to Salsman, have been showing that the Nation is on the right track.

“We thought it was time,” Salsman said.

STORY CODE: FESTIVAL

The Festival is completely funded by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation with free fun for the whole family.

According to the post, festival events will include a fun fair, live entertainment, food vendors, fireworks, 5K run, rodeo, sports tournaments, and a parade.

Unfortunately, there has not been a Festival Celebration since summer of 2019 due to the Coronavirus.

“I think everyone is excited to see that after two years of no festival that we are going to be having it again,” Salsman said.

He feels it is huge step towards normalcy.

Mvskoke Media will report upcoming features of the Festival as they become available.
