(HARPER COUNTY, Okla.) A 5-year-old is dead after a side-by-side wreck in Harper County.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol said it happened in the Doby Springs area around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday.

We're told a 34-year-old man from Enid was driving a 2019 Polaris Ranger when his 5-year-old passenger grabbed the steering wheel.

The side-by-side went off the road, hit an embankment and rolled, pinning the child beneath it.

OHP said the vehicle was equipped with seatbelts but neither the driver nor passenger were wearing them.

The boy died at the scene.
