One dead after tornado touches down in northern Michigan

(OTSEGO COUNTY, Mich.) A tornado touched down in G aylord Friday afternoon, leaving one person dead and more than 30 people injured.
According to the Michigan State Police, multiple homes and businesses were damaged and roadways are blocked by trees and power lines.
The city is under curfew until 8:00 a.m. Saturday. Residents residents are being asked to shelter in place.
MSP says people who were injured were treated at several hospitals, including Otsego Memorial Hospital, Grayling Hospital, and McClaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
A shelter was set up at E-Free Church. The Red Cross was on scene to assist.
Other agencies including the Grand Traverse Metro Emergency Services Authority, Paradise Emergency Services, and Township Fire Department are assisting in rescue and recovery.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer declared a State of Emergency for Otsego County and released a statement Friday night saying: "Our thoughts are with the impacted communities and first responders and utility workers who are working hard to keep everyone safe."
