OHP investigating fatal pursuit on I-35

(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) UPDATE: The subjects involved in Monday night's fatal pursuit on I-35 have been identified. 

Driver: Alex Aaron Carpenter, 30 years old (charged with First Degree Murder)

Passenger 1: Mercedes Angelica Martinez, 26 years old

Passenger 2: Ethan Isiah Mestes, 22 years old (deceased)

ORIGINAL STORY: Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troop Z troopers are investigating after a fatal pursuit on I-35 Monday evening.

The pursuit began a little before 9:00 p.m. near Grand and High in Oklahoma City when the suspect vehicle refused to pull over for the trooper's traffic stop. The tag on the vehicle came back as stolen.

The suspect vehicle got onto I-35 southbound at Grand, and briefly exited at 4th Street in Moore, before getting back on I-35 southbound. 

The trooper performed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) on the suspect vehicle at 9:05 p.m. between Rock Creek and Tecumseh roads on I-35. The suspect vehicle rolled and two of the three people inside were ejected. 

One male subject was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another male and female were transported to the hospital, one in critical condition. 

The trooper involved is on administrative duty while Troop Z conducts the investigation.
