“Respecting Tribal Sovereignty” Oklahoma Candidates Forum this Tuesday

(TULSA, Okla.) An all-day Oklahoma candidate's forum is taking place at the River Spirt Casino this upcoming Tuesday. 

The event, sponsored by the United Indian Nations of Oklahoma (UINO), will be held on August 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"It's critical to stress the importance of hearing from our local, state, county, and National candidates about their positions on protecting tribal sovereignty,” Chairwoman of UINO Margo Gray said. “Every vote is important to the Native American agenda in Oklahoma because protecting Tribal sovereignty is on the ballot in Oklahoma." 

Gray said Native people are a voting block that can make a major difference, and UINO is committed to doing their part to engage and encourage the Native vote in Oklahoma.
