(GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.) Downtown Grand Rapids will have more than 150 spots featuring artwork starting Thursday September 15 and going until October 2nd.
The annual ArtPrize event brings half a million people to the city eager to see what the international art display has to offer.
"As a leading international art event, we are proud of the tremendous impact ArtPrize has on the city of Grand Rapids, local businesses, and other organizations during the 18-days," said Craig Searer, ArtPrize executive director. "The city of Grand Rapids comes to life as hundreds of thousands of visitors explore the art, culture, food, and everything else the city has to offer. We couldn't do this all without the support and partnership of the City of Grand Rapids."
During this time, the city of Grand Rapids will also be hosting several events to coincide with ArtPrize.
“While all eyes will be on the art during ArtPrize, Grand Rapids is proud to team with our many community partners to offer a myriad of events and activities that will give the community an opportunity to come together to celebrate and have fun,” said City Manager Mark Washington. “These events are vital because they create a sense of community by building social, emotional, and physical connections. When events happen, our city is vibrant, tourists visit, residents engage, and our local economy thrives – bringing more than $33 million worth of economic impact to the region.”
