Almost two million Michiganders choosing to vote early ahead of election day

(LANSING, Mich.) Election Day is two weeks away and many Michiganders are choosing to vote early.
The Michigan Secretary of State's office says more than 1.8 million absentee ballots have been requested ahead of this year's election.
Of those ballots, more than 770,000 have already been returned.
The Secretary of State's Office is encouraging people who have not sent in their absentee ballot, to do so as soon as possible.
Absentee ballots can be mailed in or placed in a ballot drop box.
Absentee ballots must be submitted to a voter's local clerks office by 8 p.m. on election day.
Anyone who is eligible that would like to register to vote can still do so by visiting their local clerks office.
Polls will be open on November 8th from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
This years election includes the governor's race on the ballot with Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer running against Republican Tudor Dixon.
