(NATIONAL) Heavy lake effect/lake-enhanced snow continues to wind down from the Great Lakes to Northern New England, temperatures will be 10 to 20 degrees below average over the Southern High Plains, and there are Winter Weather Advisories and Lake Effect Snow Warnings through early Monday morning downwind from the Lower Great Lakes.

The primary upper-level energy associated with the lake effect snow will move off the Northeast Coast by Monday morning. The lake-effect snow will wind down overnight Sunday downwind the Lower Great Lakes. On Monday, an additional area of weaker upper-level energy will move across the Great Lakes. As a result, scattered areas of light snow will move across Michigan s Upper Peninsula overnight Sunday and on Monday. On Monday evening into Tuesday, light snow will linger across the lower Great Lakes and Michigan s Upper Peninsula.

Cold high pressure and upper-level energy will aid in keeping temperatures 10 to 20 degrees below average over the Southern Plains into the Western/Central Gulf Coast on Monday.

Moreover, the upper-level energy over the Southern High Plains will move eastward to the Southern Appalachians by Tuesday evening. As a result, the energy will produce light rain and embedded thunderstorms over parts of the Western Gulf Coast through Tuesday evening. In addition, weak upper-level impulses and onshore flow will produce light rain and embedded thunderstorms over parts of Florida from Sunday into Monday.

On Tuesday, the rain and embedded thunderstorms will expand into the parts of the Southeast.

Elsewhere, Air Stagnation Advisories are in effect over portions of the Pacific Northwest through Monday afternoon due to calm winds and an atmospheric inversion.
