Comstock Park man expected to face human trafficking charges
(KENT COUNTY, Mich.) The Kent County Prosecutor's office is expected to charge a 38-year old Comstock Park man with charges of: Sexually Abusive Activity, Human trafficking, Possession of Child Abusive Material, and Using a Computer to commit a crime.
The man is accused of trafficking a 16-year-old Grand Rapids teen.
The Kent County Sheriff's office says a tip in October is initiated law enforcement to start working on a case.
According to the KSCO, the man befriended the girl in a public area and then she was trafficked through online postings.
On Tuesday, the man was arrested after crossing the Mackinac Bridge with the teen.
A member of the Mackinac Bridge Authority saw the man driving and noticed a person hiding under a blanket in the back seat of the vehicle.
The Mackinac Bridge Authority let law enforcement officers know and the vehicle was stopped after crossing the bridge.
The man is expected to be officially charged in 63rd District Court sometime this week.
