(GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.) For the past several years, Grand Rapids has been an art attraction for two weeks every fall and 2023 will be no different.

The transition board for ArtPrize 2.0 announced that the event will take place between September 14 and October 1, 2023.

Earlier, this year it was announced that Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. (DGRI), Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD), and the city of Grand Rapids would take over the event that has drawn artists from around the world.

“ArtPrize has had an immense impact on our community, and it has become something that uniquely sets Grand Rapids apart," said Tim McCrackin, the president of KCAD. "Our goal is to harness the sense of wonder and discovery ArtPrize creates for visitors, and build on the sense of challenge, opportunity, and community it can create for artists and supporters of the arts."

The transition leadership board includes City Manager Mark Washington, Mayor Rosalynn Bliss, Downtown Development Authority Chairperson Rick Winn, KCAD President Tara McCrackin, Switch Vice-President for Government and Local Affairs Natalie Stewart, Corewell Health Chief Legal Officer David Leonard, and Acrisure Benefits Group Executive Vice-president of Strategic Growth Michael Verhulst.

More details about ArtPrize 2.0 will be released in early 2023.
