Service restored to all but 94 customers after gas line explosion
OklahomaBusinessJournalist
(TULSA, Okla.) Oklahoma Natural Gas said they have restored service to all but 94 of affected meters after a gas line explosion Thursday.
Roughly 67,000 customers lost power after the explosion near 21st and Memorial.
We’re told service technicians have been to each impacted location. Door hangers with information on how to get their service restored were left at locations where no one answered.
ONG said their technicians must enter the properties to perform safety checks on each visible and accessible natural gas appliance. If the appliance is not up to code, they will not be able to light it.
Someone 18 or older must be home for the technician to enter. The technician will have a company ID and logoed clothing and safety vest.
The cause of the gas line explosion is still under investigation.
