“11 days of Awesome” kicked off at the Tulsa State Fairgrounds Thursday.

It’s a mix of education and fun, with 60 plus rides, dozens of compe*****ive exhibits and contests, livestock shows, the Miss Tulsa State Fair Pageant and more, packed into 21st Street between Yale and Harvard until October 7.

The Red Dirt Rodeo takes place October 5 and 6 with concerts from Stoney LaRue and Kevin Fowler, respectively.

Music artists will also be gracing the Oklahoma Stage every night of the fair, with a lineup including Seether, 112 and Everclear.

The annual event has been around since 1903.

The midway is open noon to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday and opens at 11 a.m. on Friday and on the weekends. It stays open until 11 p.m. on Sunday and midnight on Friday and Sa*****ay.

Adult admission is $10, kids 6+ are $6 and children under 5 are free.

The event has no free parking on the grounds, but fair goers c*****e the Fair Transit System for free parking.

More than 1 million people came out for last year’s run. There is often a crowd, so it’s recommended you get there early.
