(MUSCOGEE NATION) As Native American Heritage Month continues, don’t miss out on opportunities to celebrate in Indian Country this November.

November 16: Heritage Lunch & Learn at Tinker Air Force Base with speaker Seminole Nation Chief Lewis Johnson. This event will take place from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Tinker Chapel Fellowship Hall. Find more events at Tinker Air Force Base here. 

November 17: Hymns with District 9 and Social Dancing. This event will take place at the Choctaw Headquarters Amphitheatre from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. 

November 17: The First Americans Museum (FAM) in Oklahoma City will host a screening of the short film Seed Warriors and then a panel discussion with Rebekka Schlictling and Deb-Echo-Hawk. More information can be found on the FAM website.

November 17: Southeastern Oklahoma State University will hold its 15th biennial Native American Symposium: “States of Sovereignty”. Participants are able to take part in the event virtually. Registration is free here

November 18: Lukchuk Ke Pila. This event will take place from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Choctaw Cultural Center and help prepare the center for winter. 

November 18: Chickasaw Nation Art Market located at 105 W. Main St. in Ada, Oklahoma.. There will be a book signing from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with Carol Cash Large. There will also be storytelling with Lori Carmichael from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

November 18: Indian Taco Sale from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m at the Muskogee Civic Center. 

November 21: Live Kanuchi Demonstration at Cherokee Nation. Kanuchi is a traditional Cherokee dish. The live demonstration will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m at the Delaware County Library in Jay, Oklahoma. 

November 30: Tribal Sovereignty: What is it & Why we Fight for it. An online session to discuss this topic will be held by the Choctaw Nation’s Government Relation Team. Registration for this event can also be done online.
