(SAND SPRINGS, Okla.) The OHP Tactical Team executed a search and arrest warrant on behalf of the Pawnee County Sheriff during the overnight hours of April 23, 2019, at a residence located in Pawnee County. The named suspect on the Tulsa County warrant was Phillip Christopher Hardman, an individual with a lengthy felony history including several pending felony warrants. While preparing to serve the warrant at Hardman's property, the OHP Tac Team developed intelligence that Hardman was located at another residence in Sand Springs. The team traveled to that location but as they approached, they observed Hardman exiting the residence and fleeing in a vehicle. A member of the team performed a tactical vehicle intervention, or TVI, on the vehicle and the suspect spun out into a ditch. He then began driving toward the troopers who were approaching him on foot. Those troopers opened fire and Hardman was taken into custody. He was transported to the hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
Two other individuals, later identified as Christopher Pearson and Heather Barksdale were also at the residence and were taken into custody on outstanding warrants. Pearson was treated and released for wounds received from the OHP Tac Team K9 during arrest. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is conducting an ongoing investigation at the location of the incident. All troopers involved with the incident will be placed on administrative leave with pay per Department policy.
