Police identify suspect in midtown Tulsa shooting spree

(TULSA, Okla.) UPDATE 1: The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Derrec Shaw. ORIGINAL STORY: Officers responded to a man with a gun in the area of CiCi's pizza at 4900 South Peoria just before 7 p.m. Friday. Officers arrived and observed a man had been shot in the face and the suspect was running southbound across I-44 pointing a revolver at vehicles passing by.  An officer retrieved his patrol rifle and pursued the suspect.  The officer fired one round from his patrol rifle striking and killing the armed suspect.  Further investigation revealed the suspect had attempted to car jack at least two vehicles and pointed his weapon at multiple victims, shooting two, both expected to survive.  I-44 was closed in both directions while the scene was processed. It has since been reopened. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
