PHOTO COURTESY: OKLAHOMA HIGHWAY PATROL (TULSA, Okla.) Nearly a dozen tornado reports were received Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning after a series of storms swept through Oklahoma. The flood danger is expected to continue into the rest of the week as at least 4-6 inches of rain fell across eastern Oklahoma during that time, with more anticipated in the days to come. The National Weather Service said flash flooding will transition to aerial flooding and river flooding. Officials said releases from Lake Keystone, just upstream of Tulsa, will likely cause the river to reach or slightly exceed flood stage over the next few days. If that occurs, it will be the highest the river has reached in Tulsa since the 1968 flood. Sand Springs Police urged residents in the Meadow Valley subdivision to voluntarily evacuate by 11 P.M. or risk injury or death from the Keystone Dam release. Residents are asked to take valuables and pets with them, and will be permitted to park their vehicles on Highway 51 where it has been marked with cones. Flooding was also substantial in Skiatook, where Oklahoma Highway Patrol rescued residents from five homes due to high flood waters.
