Chickasha man drowns saving girl

(CHICKASHA, Okla.) Troopers said a man is dead after he and two others rescued a girl from drowning Monday night. We’re told 34-year-old Zachary Tyron of Chickasha drowned at Lake Chickasha near Cottonwood Loop, several miles northwest of Verden in Caddo County around 5:30 p.m. Tyron was on a boat dock when he saw a young girl struggling in the water. He and two other men jumped in after her. The other two men were able to get the girl to shore, but Tyron went under. His body was recovered roughly five hours later, ten feet from the dock.
