(TULSA, Okla.) Light south or southwest winds will continue overnight into Wednesday, with high clouds moving across the area. The best chance for storms will be for Wednesday afternoon. The majority of any precipitation is expected to be across the southern part of our forecast area, with shower and thunderstorm coverage expected to increase area wide Thursday and Thursday night as an upper low moves slowly east across the area. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible, although the trend in the models has been down with total rainfall amounts, which is good news given the recent and ongoing flooding. Rain chances will taper off from the west by Friday night and Saturday. 1 to 2 inches of rain still seems likely in most locations, with locally higher amounts. A cold front will move across the area Sunday, but is likely to come through dry given limited low level convergence along the boundary. Cooler and drier weather will then prevail for the first part of next week.
