Tulsa Police focusing on construction zone violations
OklahomaTraffic
(TULSA, Okla.) During the month of June, the Tulsa Police Department will focus on
construction zone violations in areas where there is on-going road construction throughout the City of Tulsa.
Tulsa Police Traffic Officers and Motorcycle Officers will be randomly monitoring construction zones within the City of Tulsa during this enforcement action. A citation issued for violations within a construction zone can range from $150 to up to $500 and/or jail time; NO WARNINGS will be issued.
With warming weather, vacation travel and road construction projects will increase, and the Tulsa Police Department reminds drivers to remain alert, refrain from using all electronic communication devices, buckle their seatbelts, secure children in a properly installed child restraint system and to pay special attention to all warning signs in construction zones.
Traffic violations in construction zones are a leading cause of serious injury and fatality collisions in work zones. The Tulsa Police Department’s goal is to reduce the frequency and severity of serious injury and fatality collision within construction zones.
