Man arrested for beating woman with claw hammer

(TULSA, Okla.) On Thursday at 5:41 PM patrol officers were called to a domestic assault in progress in a motel room at the Oasis Motel at 9303 E. 11th Street. When the first officer, arrived he heard screams and sounds of a scuffle from the motel room.  When the door opened, he saw the suspect, Javier Tierra-Blanca, standing over the victim with a raised claw hammer.  The officer stopped the assault and detained the suspect.  The female victim had serious blunt force injuries from the hammer as well as punctures to her legs, arms, and chest from the hammer claws. She was treated and transported by EMSA to St. Francis Hospital.  A two year old child witnessed the assault in the motel room.  He was uninjured and went to the hospital with his mother.  Tierra-Blanca was arrested for Domestic Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Domestic Violence in the Presence of a Child.
