(TULSA, Okla.) Storm chances will continue through the day Monday keeping temperatures down similar to Sunday, before the heat gets turned up for a couple of days. The warming temperatures will be thanks to strengthening ridging aloft over the southern plains. High plains thunderstorm activity should remain to our north Monday and Tuesday with any storm chances in our area becoming focused across northern areas. Heat Index values will likely climb well above 100 both days as dew points remain in the low-mid 70s. Heat headlines will likely be needed Tuesday and again Wednesday as temperatures peak ahead of an approaching frontal boundary. This front will eventually bring dew points down to much more reasonable levels by late in the week. Summer heat will begin to re-build by next weekend as upper ridge strengthens again over the plains, with no appreciable chance of rainfall.
