(TULSA, Okla.) The Tulsa Police Department is excited to announce a partnership with Ring and their Neighbors App. Police said it will give them a chance to work more closely with the community, collaborate on reducing crime and increasing neighborhood awareness between the department and local communities. The Neighbors App is free and doesn’t require the purchase of their equipment to use. If you have an existing surveillance system or none at all, you can still use the app and join the thousands of people in Tulsa who are sharing crime and safety concerns. To download the app, text tulsaok to 555888 Or https://shop.ring.com/pages/neighbors Or Apple Devices https://apple.co/2SxKaN Or Android Devices http://bit.ly/2M7UsTK According to the app’s website, users are able to get real-time crime and safety alerts from neighbors and local law enforcement. The Neighbors App uses your address to create a radius around your home. If anyone shares an alert on the App about crime or safety within that radius, you’ll get a notification on your phone and tablet. Conversely, if you share an alert on the App about a crime or safety issue in your radius, your neighbors will also get a notification on their phones and tablets. You can then comment on these alerts to provide additional information about local issues, give tips to avoid affected areas, share photos or videos to help neighbors stay on the lookout, etc.
