(TULSA, Okla.) Thunderstorm chances will begin to modestly increase after midnight Monday across northeast Oklahoma as a weak upper wave approaches. Better thunderstorm coverage is expected along outflow boundary in southeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas into Monday morning.
Cold pool driven storms will shift farther south and east into the forecast area on Monday, with the activity tapering off Monday evening. Severe weather chances appear slim, but the forecast area will likely see some pockets of locally heavy rainfall, forecast around 2 inches.
Not much change is expected for the remainder of the week, with seasonably hot and humid conditions in store as the upper ridge shifts farther east. It's not out of the question to see some areas of showers and possible thunderstorms in the Wednesday/Thursday time-frame, although we will keep storm chances rather low at this time.
