(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) Police have identified an Oklahoma Department of Corrections corporal as the victim in a domestic violence-related murder Monday in Oklahoma City. Her husband, who was a suspect in her death, was killed by police shortly afterward. ODOC hired Cpl. Caleea Broadus July 2, 2018, after she discharged as a sergeant from the U.S. Army. She worked at Oklahoma City Community Corrections Center. “Cpl. Broadus had a bright future in corrections,” ODOC Interim-Director Scott Crow said. “After less than a year with our agency, she had already promoted from correctional officer to corporal. ODOC support staff will be at Oklahoma City Community Corrections Center to assist the men and women who worked with Broadus in coping with her death. “She was a dedicated, loyal team member to her coworkers,” Crow said. “Whenever the facility needed someone to pick up a shift, she would volunteer – no matter the time or day.” ODOC human resources staff have been in touch with Broadus’ family to help them with her employee benefits.
