Construction of new Whiteside Park Pool to begin next week

(TULSA, Okla.) Construction of a new pool at Whiteside Park will begin during the week of Sept. 16. The Whiteside Pool will remain a junior pool with a maximum depth of 4 ½ feet. The pool and bath house will be rebuilt to meet requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. During construction of the Whiteside pool, the rest of the park will remain open. The Whiteside Park splash pad will be open for the summer of 2020. Completion of the new Whiteside Park pool is scheduled for completion in late summer 2020, weather dependent. This is the third pool to be rebuilt as part of the 2014 Improve Our Tulsa program. The new McClure Park pool opened in 2018, and the new Lacy Park pool opened July 4, 2019. Improve Our Tulsa included funds to rebuild five pools – McClure, Lacy, Whiteside, Reed and Berry. Design of a new Reed Park pool is currently in progress.
