OHP seeks public’s help with fatal crash

(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) On Tuesday evening, September 17, at 7:47 PM Oklahoma Highway Patrol dispatch center in OKC was notified of a fatal crash on Interstate 35 north of NE 23rd Street involving a 2000 International Model 4700 wrecker and a 1998 Toyota RAV4. Review of the dash cam video revealed a white car, possibly a Nissan Altima, traveling in the northbound lanes next to the wrecker. The car then changed lanes in front of the wrecker causing the driver to firmly apply its brakes and swerve left to avoid collision with the car. The wrecker left the roadway to the left into the grass and then continued to cross the median and through the cable barrier into the southbound lanes of I35 striking a 1998 Toyota RAV4. The collision caused the death of the driver of the Toyota and serious injury to a juvenile female passenger.
