Cooler weather on the way

(TULSA, Okla.) Unseasonably warm and humid weather will continue through Wednesday. Less cloud cover Monday through Wednesday should result in an increase in afternoon high temperatures, with upper 80s to lower 90s common across the forecast area. Sunday was the 3rd straight day that Tulsa tied or broke a daily record for warmest minimum temperature, and Monday and Tuesday will likely also be record breakers in that regard. Relief is on the way in the form of a cold front that will sweep across the area Wednesday night and Thursday. While this front will only knock temperatures back to near the seasonal normals, it will feel cooler given the unseasonable warmth of late. Shower and thunderstorm chances will increase in the vicinity of the front, with at least low chances continuing Friday and Saturday. Rain chances may increase again next Sunday as a second cold front moves into the area, possibly bringing below normal temperatures for the start of the second week of October.
